"You Are A Star!"

OUTREACH SCHOOL STAFF RECOGNITION AWARD
The UW Outreach School staff is a very dedicated and passionate group of people.  These traits are exemplified each and every day as our staff works with students, faculty and staff, as well as developing relationships with outside individuals and organizations throughout the state, the country and the world.  Outreach School staff members are very driven and determined to carry out the mission of the Outreach School to the highest standards of excellence.


This award program is to recognize the outstanding efforts of Outreach School staff individuals across all divisions that have exemplified the qualities of collaboration, community, and ethics and have recognized the importance of the foci of Academic Plan III for the Outreach School:  learning, access, partnership and innovation.  This award will be presented twice a year and all Outreach School staff members are eligible to be nominated, excluding division managers.


DEADLINE FOR NOMINATIONS:

The “You’re A Star” Award will be presented two times a year.  The deadline for nominations is April 15 and October 15 each year.  Awards will be presented to the selected staff member each June and November.  The dean, in person and over the Outreach Video Network, will present these awards.


NOMINATION CRITERIA:

As mentioned above, any staff member in the Outreach School can nominate any other staff member, except division managers.  To nominate an individual, simply answer questions on the nomination form (available for download below) describing how nominee applies Outreach School values both internally and with customer service to support an environment of respect and cooperation within the Outreach School, and how his/her actions support Academic Plan III.  The nomination criteria is as follows:

  1. Describe, in detail, how the nominee has shown respect for and/or cooperation with another co-worker(s).

    Example: assisted or helped a co-worker above and beyond the call of duty, office coverage without complaint when someone is ill or helping a co-worker after surgery or an illness, etc. cooperating with another member of the Outreach School

  2. Describe, in detail, how the nominee has shown respect and cooperation to a client/customer during the work period.

    Example:  consistently finds answers to questions beyond current knowledge or background, stays calm when dealing with frustrating clients, etc.

  3. Describe, in detail, how the nominee supports the ideas/values of innovation, access, learning, partnerships, and the three foci of Academic Plan III with access, leadership and excellence.

    Example: attended training and proposed changes at work to support a new initiative; used OVN to connect with other OS members in a new, unique way.

THE AWARD:

  • Personalized award plaque

  • Cash award of $150.00 (check)

  • Lunch with the dean – winner’s choice of restaurant; spouse or significant other included.

  • Credit from OCP for $120 to apply to an online credit class and a gift certificate from CCCE for up to $100 to apply to a noncredit class.

  • Coupon for a full day off

  • A photo and story to be showcased on this webpage
