Prounounced, Vee-da-voo, this is the area of fascinating rock formations east of Laramie. Veadauwoo is rich in natural history, geology, and beauty. Its name was invented by Euro-Americans who said it meant 'earth born spirit.' Jim Richard will guide Walkabout participants on a hike around Turtle Rock Trail and share with them many unknown tales about the area.
A Walkabut is a short period of wandering engaged in as an interruption of regular work, a walking tour, especially one in which a well known person mingles with the public. The Vedauwoo Walkabout is the second of three walking tours scheduled for the summer. Meet at Vedauwoo's first parking lot at 9:00 am on June 13 to participate in Richard's educational excursion. A walking tour of the UW campus is scheduled for August 4 so makes plans to walk and learn during both expeditions. Have fun and join other members of the Laramie community while exploring on foot the unique and beautiful Laramie area.
