Underground Dance Gets Underway on Sunday

Laramie, WY (Feb. 6, 2006) –
A relatively new dance will be hitting Laramie on Sunday, when the Underground Dance class gets underway at Half Acre.

The course, being offered by UW Community Enrichment Programs, will cover a wide range of underground dance styles that will be demonstrated and broken down throughout the semester.  The variety of styles will include liquid, tutting, robot, strobing, waving and popping.

The two instructors that will be bringing this new class to Laramie are Clay Olson and Kyle Wieger.  They have been dancing competitively in Popping battles and massive electronic events for 4 years.  Olson and Wieger are part of a group called “Dimensions” and have competed in competitions in Colorado.

“We are devoted to the dance and want to spread it to places that don’t yet understand the underground dance craze,” said Olson.

Underground Dance runs February 12 - April 16,  from 6:30 – 8:00 pm in Room 3 South at Half Acre on the University of Wyoming campus.  The cost of the class is $45.  If you are interested in registering for this class, please contact the Community Enrichment office at 307-766-6802.
