First Interstate Bank Donates $1,000 to Snowy Range Nonprofit Institute

August 1, 2006 (Laramie, WY) --
First Interstate Bank of Laramie has donated $1,000 to the Snowy Range Nonprofit Institute (SRNI), which will be held August 6-8 at the UW College of Law Building.  The focus of this year’s institute is “The Greater Good: Becoming a Value-Driven Nonprofit.”

This contribution will help SRNI fulfill its mission of serving nonprofit agencies and their professionals throughout the state of Wyoming and the Rocky Mountain region with unique educational opportunities. The SRNI is coordinated by the University of Wyoming Outreach School.

“First Interstate’s gift enables us to enhance the quality of institute programming, and affirms the importance of providing professional development and networking opportunities to the nonprofit sector,” said Debra Beck, SRNI curriculum director.

All nonprofit professionals, including staff, board members and volunteers are encouraged to attend this year’s institute, which will be marking its fifth year. Among the offerings are sessions on Building a Fundraising Program, Values-Based Financial Reporting, Mission-Driven Evaluation, Moving Boards from “Responsible” to “Exceptional,” Special Events that Raise Good Will and Funds, and Clarifying Personal Organizational Values.

Additional SRNI sponsors include Qwest, UW Outreach School, and UW Cooperative Extension Service Community Development Education State Initiative Team.  For more information or to register, please contact UW Community Service Education at (307) 766-5249.
