Laramie Roundabout Series Off to a Good Start

June 27, 2006 (Laramie, WY) --
The first session of the Laramie Roundabout has been completed with great success as 10 people met up at Vedauwoo on June 17th for the tour of the fascinating rock formations.

Jim Richard, the storyteller, shared explicit detail along the geologic walk of the Turtle Rock Trail.  He taught the participants that the formations are made up of “textbook granite,” which is “as good as it gets.”  The day was complete with wildflowers along the trail and beaver ponds intact.

The next class in the Roundabout Series is a tour of the University of Wyoming.  Phil Roberts will be guiding the tour and discussing the buildings throughout the campus and their inhabitants.  Among his stories will include people that have worked at the University, both past and present.

Additional classes for the Laramie Roundabout include a tour of Greenhill Cemetery with Dan Nelson on July 15th, a bike ride and home history tour on July 22nd, and a tour of the train depot and a taste of Laramie on July 29th.
