UW Community Service Education Receives National Award

June 12, 2006 (Laramie, WY) --
After a very successful first quarter of 2006, Education2Go, a nationally accredited online vendor, recognized UW Community Service Education for its efforts in increasing noncredit online classes, by adding their name to the “Top Gainer” list.  Compared to the first quarter of 2005, the program has increased by 131%.

“This is quite the honor for our division,” said Abi Gerhard, Project Coordinator for noncredit online classes.   “We’ve been working hard at bringing the noncredit online program up to the next level and it’s nice to get recognized to show all of our work has been paying off.”

So far, the second quarter is proving to be successful as well, as the noncredit online classes for UW have already increased by 77%.

“We appreciate the dedication that the University of Wyoming has shown to fostering the Ed2Go program within the community,” said Holly Roehsler, the Ed2Go Account Representative for UW.  “We wish them continued growth throughout the year.”

The top classes for UW continue to be Creating Web Pages, Speed Spanish, Introduction to Microsoft Excel, and Accounting Fundamentals.  Each Ed2Go class is six weeks long, with eight weeks to complete the course material.  The classes begin the third Wednesday of each month with the next session beginning June 21st.  Ed2Go has over 300 classes available in a wide variety of topics.
