February 28, 2007(Laramie, WY) -- Marketing That Clicks! was the focus of the 15th Annual University Continuing Education Association (UCEA) Marketing Seminar held February 15 - 18 in San Francisco, CA. Pam Brekken, UW Outreach School Marketing Coordinator, had the opportunity to network with and learn new skills from more than 200 other marketing professionals. Hot topics included understanding search engines and what can be done to optimize web page content for maximize results, maintaining brand integrity, building relationships and partnerships with other universities, and measuring interactive endeavors.
As competition and fiscal responsibility increases, marketers are being held to higher standards of accountability. It is imperative for better customer service and improved market performance of programs and events, that professionals keep up to date with new assessment and tracking tools and what practices other businesses are employing. By continually “sharpening the saw” marketing specialists can provide better returns and higher profits to their clients.
“I am being asked more frequently for return on investment figures and what my conversion rates are for specific marketing initiatives” said Brekken. “These are key metrics that clients need to know to determine the success of their marketing efforts.”
Participants at the conference agreed that it is the job of marketing professionals to clearly define objectives of each program, target the correct audiences, and develop the strategies and tactics UP FRONT. Once the preliminary steps have been taken, it’s just as important to analyze feedback during the campaign and do a summary at the end. This information can then be used to make the next campaign successful as well.
UCEA is among the oldest college and university associations in the United States. The Association assists institutions of higher learning and affiliated nonprofit organizations to increase access through a wide array of educational programs and services.
