Upcoming Enrichment Classes Still Have Openings

July 6, 2006 (Laramie, WY) --
Even though the UW Community Enrichment summer catalogs came out in May, there are still a variety of classes that start throughout the next several weeks.  Among these classes is excitement for people of all ages.

An educational class for children is Explore Germany, which is available on Saturday mornings.  Instructor Liz Erichson will help the children explore the culture, food, music and games of the country.  They will also learn language starters such as numbers, alphabet, color and animals. The class is open to children ages 6-9 and costs $30 per child.  Classes are Saturday mornings from 10:00 am – noon, July 8 – August 5.

“Cattail” Bob Seebeck is offering his Wild Edible Plant tour again on July 8.  This tour will identify dozens of the best-tasting wild plants in the Rocky Mountains.  The participants will also be able to “sample” some of the plants.   Additionally, Seebeck will teach the difference between medicinal plants and poisonous herbs.  The cost of the class is $30 and does not include transportation.  Registrants will need to meet at the Beta House at 10:00 am.

With the popularity of reality TV shows, in particular “Dancing with the Stars”, classes such as Lindy Hop I Basics is growing at a steady rate.  This social dance is a lively one, contingent upon learning lead/follow basics and the ability to listen to the beat.  Participants will learn basic spins and moves of jitterbug to a whole new level of enjoyment and creativity. Roger Ericson will lead this class on Wednesday nights at 6:30 pm on July 12 – August 9.  Cost of the class is $30 per person or $50 per couple.

If you are interested in registering for any of these classes, please contact the Community Enrichment office at 307-766-6802.
