September 24, 2007 (Laramie, WY) --It’s a pawnshop for the 21st Century complete with a digital storefront and an inventory that rivals Wal-Mart. Users of eBay, an open market auction Web site, know firsthand the lucrative opportunity offered from the digital store format. Now, through a partnership with the University of Wyoming and ed2go.com, students can learn the ins-and-outs of buying and selling goods on eBay.
UW offers two noncredit courses designed to help Wyomingites join the 200-million eBay members in raking in a profit, they are “Buying and Selling Goods on eBay,” and “Start Your Own eBay Drop off Store.” Both courses are available online through the Outreach School Division of Community Service Education.
“Whether you’re looking for a few extra bucks, or to start a fulltime business, eBay is a tool that will help you meet your financial goals,” says John Scozzafava, noncredit online class coordinator for CSE. “There are some tricks to the trade however, and these classes expose the secrets.”
Courses through Ed2Go begin every month and run for 6 weeks. Students can access material at any time and ask questions of instructors through online chat.
“I liked being able to print the lesson material and read it as I had time during the day,” says Barbara Wilson, a former student of CSE. “I was also able to attack the assignments as my workday allowed and go at my own pace.”
UW full time faculty and staff receive a $10 discount from the usual $89 course fee. Faculty and staff must contact John at jscozzaf@uwyo.edu or (307) 766-5634 to receive the discount.
Registration is currently open for both eBay classes and will remain open through September 26, 2007 with a new session beginning October 17, 2007. To register online, visit www.ed2go.com/uwyo or call John at (307) 766-5634.
