July 18, 2007 (Laramie, WY) -- UW Community Service Education is teaming up with the Laramie Animal Shelter to sponsor the second annual Dog Day Afternoon on August 19 from noon to 4:00 pm at Undine Park.
This free day of entertainment and education will celebrate man’s best friend. Well socialized, leashed dogs and their owners are encouraged to attend. For dogs and owners, a full schedule of events is planned including fly ball, health and fitness demonstrations, adoption options, a dog wash, grooming tips, and dog care possibilities for owners who travel from home
Specifically for canine companions, the event will include judging of the most beautiful doggy participants as recognized by event coordinators. Dogs will have an opportunity to compete in an agility course or get their nails trimmed with a doggy pedicure.
The Laramie Animal Shelter will have a microchip clinic at the park, available from 1:00-4:00 pm for only $20. These microchips help to quickly return both dogs and cats home if they are lost with an easy scan by the Animal Shelter. Interested participants will need to provide proof of current rabies vaccination.
Any proceeds from this event will be going to the Laramie Animal Shelter. For more information, please contact Barbara Barnes at 742-4565 or Pam Brekken with UW Community Service Education at 766-5635.
