Upgraded Microsoft Office Specialist Course Now offered By University of Wyoming

March 6, 2007 (Laramie, WY) --
The University of Wyoming announced today that it will offer a new and more effective Microsoft Office Specialist course. The 120-hour course will be offered through a partnership with Gatlin Education Services and Comma Project LLC., a premier developer of exceptional technology training.

Over the years, GES found that 80 percent of enrollments in the course were female, which prompted the partnership with Comma Project, who has extensively studied women and integration with technology. Since their 1999 inception, the company has perfected technology instruction that is more effective for women, as well as men, and has achieved a staggering 97 percent completion rate for the course.

The online program is a comprehensive, performance-based program that teaches students to be proficient in using the most popular suite of Microsoft Office 2003 programs including Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and Access. The MOS program provides computer-program literacy, measures proficiency, and identifies opportunities for skills enhancement. Participants receive a certificate of completion from the college upon successful completion of the course. Students are then well prepared to take the Microsoft Office Specialist Certification Test.

“We’ve made the course a lot of fun,” said Elizabeth Nofs, creative director for Comma Project LLC. “We use a lot of real-life examples in order to make the course more practical and memorable and focus on teaching the skills the employers want their employees to have. Why wade through a lot of information you’ll never use? It’s a very effective course.”

Established in 1989 by Stephen Gatlin, Gatlin Education Services is the largest provider of Web-based, instructor-supported training to community colleges and universities. Gatlin’s courses are open enrollment, allowing interested students to start their desired training immediately. Gatlin’s online career training courses are designed to provide the skills necessary to acquire professional caliber positions for many in-demand occupations.

Founded in 1999, Comma Project LLC is a premier developer of exceptional technology training. The company is responsible for innovating the Comma Method, a gender-balanced, fast-paced, comprehensive, and entertaining training for learning Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access and Windows. Thousands of corporate, government and educational professionals and students have been trained using the Comma Method and 96 percent have passed the post-assessment tests.
