Academic
Integrity
The University of Wyoming is built on a strong foundation of integrity,
respect, and trust. All members of the university community have a
responsibility to our community and the right to expect honesty from others.
Any form of academic dishonesty is unacceptable to our community and will
not be tolerated. Please report instances of academic dishonesty to your
instructors. If you have any other questions, please contact the UW Regional
Center in your area or call Outreach Credit Programs toll free at
1-800-448-7801. You may also view the university regulation regarding
academic dishonesty at
www.uwyo.edu/legal/uniregs/ur802.htm.
Coursework and
class attendance
Class attendance is important to your success as a student. However, if you
must miss class it is your responsibility to talk with your instructor and
make arrangements for making up assignments and/or missed work. Outreach
Credit Programs does not provide audio/videotapes of classes to students if
they miss class.
For some audio and video courses, students are responsible for mailing course assignments and take-home examinations directly to their instructors. In case of loss or damage in the mail, students should always keep copies of assignments.
curriculum
advising and program planning
Curriculum Advising and
Program Planning (CAPP) is a computerized progress report/advising support
system which evaluates UW completed coursework as well as transfer courses.
This report is readily available to you through your WyoWeb account.
drop/withdrawal
Students are responsible for making any adjustments to their
registration in accordance with the calendar. Students may drop a course
offered through Outreach Credit Programs before it begins, after attending
only the first class session, or during the official drop period, whichever
occurs last. No evidence of the dropped course will appear on the student’s
official transcript. Withdrawals will appear on the students’ official
transcript and will be subject to varying refunds based on the class time
elapsed. Non-attendance does not constitute withdrawal from a course.
To drop or withdraw from a class, login into WyoWeb using your UW username
and password, click on the 'Student Resources' tab, and then click on
the 'Registration Tools' channel to drop a course and the 'Student
Forms or Petitions' channel to withdraw from a course. Click here for more information on the refund
schedule.
ATTENTION: Withdrawal from all of your classes—even if you are enrolled in only one course—is considered an All School Withdrawal. To initiate an All School Withdrawal, call Outreach Credit Programs at 1-800-448-7801.

Syllabi
UW Outreach Credit Programs will e-mail a copy of
the syllabi for audio, video, on-site, or independent study courses
approximately one week prior to the start of class. The e-mail will be sent
to your UWYO e-mail account.
Course syllabi for Online UW courses will be available on the first day of class in the individual course shell after you login to Online UW. Under special circumstances, the syllabus may be e-mailed to your UWYO e-mail account prior to the first day of class.
W number
For several years, University of Wyoming students have
been identified by their Social Security Number. There has always been a
need to identify students uniquely so that they can be correctly associated
with their information and data contained within the various administrative
systems on campus. For security reasons, UW has decided to abandon the use
of Social Security Numbers as an identifier. Instead, all students, staff
and faculty have been assigned a new unique identifier in the new Banner
student information system. This is an eight digit number preceded by a W.
Students may find their W number in WyoWeb. Under the Student Resources, the Banner Self-Service channel contains a number of links. Several of these links render pages which contain the student’s W number. For example, by opening the Student and Financial Aid link, then following the link to Student Records and then View Student Information, will bring up a page containing, among other things, the student’s name and W number. The W number is positioned on the right side of the page near the top, to the left of the student’s name.
