Since her father lost his hearing and they both learned about and used the TTY - telecommunication for the deaf on the phone, Carol has had an interest in learning Sign Language. She took the classes offered by UW Outreach programs a copule of years ago. She enjoyed the first six weeks so much that she signed up and took Sign Language II. Carol now uses Sign Lanugage on a weekly basis and has enjoyed doing research and reading books about the deaf culture. Sign Language is now the 3rd language in the United States.
