Transition to Supervision
Becoming a new supervisor is complex and can be very challenging. Participants will examine the expectations of a supervisor or manager, as well as learn how to avoid any pitfalls during that transition. This course is also useful for those managing new supervisors. Please note: Participants are encouraged to bring (disguised) case studies for the group to analyze.

Conflict Resolution
This training is recommended for managers or supervisors who want to learn about the processes that are in place for helping problem employees. This training will also give you tools that you can use to resolve conflicts between employees. Procedural rules that are in place under the Employee Handbook are also covered, including Work Improvement Plans, Progressive Discipline, Grievance Procedures, and Mediation.

Effective Listening
In conversations, do you often feel you are spending more time thinking about what you’re going to say than actually listening to the opposite person? In this workshop, participants will practice and refine the skills needed to understand others with accuracy and empathy. It will also elaborate on how we may unintentionally come across to others as “not listening” because of how our non-verbal cues are interpreted. Discussion will include special listening challenges, including telephone conversations.

Understanding Behavioral Styles in the Workplace
Behavioral research suggests that about three quarters of the people you work with have a significantly different approach to interpersonal interactions. Learn how to understand and leverage those differences for better communication. People with different styles can complement each other in terms of problems, people, growth, and communication. Participants will learn the strengths and pitfalls of their preferred behavior style and to identify how and when to adapt to others’ styles.
