Helen L. Hasbrouck Scholarship
Helen L. Hasbrouck endowed this scholarship program as an expression of her gratitude for the financial assistance she received from UW in the 1930s. She was born in Sheridan and taught school there for a year. In 1942, she enlisted in the U.S. Navy Waves. After World War II, she resigned from the military and served as a civilian federal employee in Guam, Austria, and Germany before ending her career in Washington, D.C.

This scholarship program is available to students who have a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average at the time of application and have a financial need of at least $3,000 as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Recipients of this scholarship must be enrolled at least half-time.
To apply for the Helen L. Hasbrouck Scholarship, students must file the UW Application for Financial Aid and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The UW application and results of the FAFSA should be sent to the following address.

Application deadline is Feb. 1, 2006 for the 2006-07 academic year. Approximately 15 $1,000 scholarships are available.

SUMMER SESSION OUTREACH DEGREE SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship program is available to help both undergraduate and graduate students who have been admitted to the University of Wyoming and are actively pursuing outreach degrees. Five $600 scholarships are available to qualified applicants wishing to attend Summer Session on the campus in Laramie. Awards are based on demonstrated financial need and scholarship. To qualify for these awards, students must be admitted to UW for the completion of off-campus degree programs and be making progress toward their degrees. Applicants must also have 3.0 GPAs in prior UW courses and be registered for a minimum load of eight semester hours during the Summer Session on the Laramie campus.
Outreach degree-seeking students interested in applying for the scholarship are encouraged to write and request an application.
