"The most important thing for Kansas kids is the ability to adapt to different styles of debate, which is mainly dictated by the level of experience your judge has. At WFI, it was explicit that campers were supposed to get as much out of the camp as possible. For me, I improved my abilities for all styles of debate and came back feeling comfortable that I could win any debate no matter who was in the back of the room. I also got more individual attention at WFI than any other camps I had previously attended. My lab leaders gave me the knowledge I needed for diverse argumentation and the confidence I needed to be successful. That was what ultimately led me to the success I had my senior year of high school."
-Sean Stenger, Shawnee Mission East High School and Debater for Wichita State

"Attending WFI before my senior year was one of the best choices I made in my debate career. WFI is one of the few institutes in the country that is operated entirely to serve the debaters, keeping cost low without sacrificing quality. There really is no limit to how much better WFI can make you. Our lab leaders woke up early and stayed up late to help us whenever we needed their help. I became a much better speaker, researcher, and squad leader after just a few days. The skills I learned and the people I met at WFI were invaluable in helping me earn a college scholarship. I don't know of any other institute in the country that offers as many opportunities at as low a cost as WFI."
- Brian Rubaie, Shawnee Mission East High School and Debater for the University of Texas at Dallas
